• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Engine Problem

Suddenly right after starting my engines, they shut down after a few seconds. I start them up again, they fire up, and boom they shut down. . I have checked if by any chance the engine failure might be activated, and no. Reinstalled my FSX and the problem continues. Had installed the free version of FSUIPC trying to get the CH Yoke to thrust reverse, but never programed anything with it. Never the less I un installed it when this problem started thinking that it might be the reason for the failure. And having cheked all this the engines are still shutting down after having normally started. By the way this failure happens with whatever aircraft I have decided to use... Guys can someone help me on this:mad:

I've had this happen many times before but my fix may be something you've already checked...

  • Make sure your aircraft has fuel...
  • Make sure that the mixture is full-rich / fuel is on...
  • If it's a "complex" aircraft you may need to follow any start proceedures provided by the developer...
  • Sometimes I fly aircraft that require my throttle to be "off idle" or the engine with shutdown...
  • Verify your throttle is calibrated, the sensitivity is 100%, and the null zone is no greater than 5%
Those are the things I would look at, if you haven't already. Your installation is most likely fine.

Perhaps disconnect your yoke and start engines with the mouse. Could be a setting in the yoke.

Thanks guys, had an Internet blackout and could reply. Well let me tell you both that I first unplugged my Yoke and Thottle to evalue results. Found that the engines did not power of:cool:f. Plugged them back and boom, engines went off almost instantly:mad:. So in a way this made me at ease because it had nothing to do with FSX. Then started to check the Yoke and Throttle, did not find anything unusual, so clicked on the default setting, plugged them back, and the engines are running smoothly now. What happen, I really don't know :)but I am glad that all is OK however I will keep looking to see if I find anything unsual, which of course are something common to me.
Thanks again
