• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Planner in 2008

Hi all,

Happy New Year!

With the new year upon us, I thought it would be good to let everyone know a little about the plans for FSX Planner in 2008. We are working on updating the current version, as well as starting to lay the ground work for a much more powerful version, which if all goes to plan, will be much more than a simple airport editor.

We have been playing with some new concepts for FSX Planner, and it's big brother (the name of which is still undecided). We hope that these new concepts will provide a much easier interface for users to editor airports. Hopefully there will be some screenshots in the not too distant future, or possibly even an update to FSX Planner which will include the fully functional improvements.

The speed of this really depends on how much time is available, as we do need to sometimes concentrate on our other applications in order to make a living. :)

So thanks for listening and for your support, and we hope that 2008 is a great year for everyone and that we can continue to make FSX Planner a top class airport editor.

Thanks for the hard work so far. If nothing else a good exercise in using Java to do these kinds of things.

I can only echo the replies above. Russell you have a great project here, long may it continue.

It's been a while since I first posted this topic. So here's a quick update. The next release of FSX Planner is coming along well. It's taking a bit more time than expected, but will hopefully be worth it! The user interface and ease of use aspects is the main focus, and it is coming along quite nicely. It still needs some polishing, but when done I hope that it will provide users with a top of the line, easy to use and helpful interface.

Thanks for using FSX Planner!

Russell, Many thanks for the update. I was just wondering when the next update was going to come out. I look forward to continuing to use this great FSX tool. Onward and upward.
