• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Problem: Default Terrain is Messed-up

Help FSX is really screwd up



The background for the airport is messed up.

The "satilite image" is showing.

Tried rebuilding the scenery file and no joy.

Note: this is with West Wind Virtual Airlines KORD update
I have the same problem with the default airport (WWVA removed)

This area seems to only happen from 100ish mi in and around ord (100mi radius)

infact Lake Michigan is showing up as sand !



( The block of sand is lake Michigan) also some "city" is covering Lake Michigan
 
It looks like you either have an exclude doing something it shouldn't or some vector data that has been compiled without the -addtocells switch.
 
Wha??? How do I fix that?

BTW This is DEFAULT Scenery

I perfer to fix this w/o reinstalling FSX
 
how can i fix this? it only happens in this area the rest of the world and fsx appears to be fine

how can i manually install the fsx sceney without reinstalling ALL of FSX

The quickest way would be to DELETE the entire FSX ..\Scenery folder, then run the FSX "Repair" option.

This will restore all of the default scenery files.
 
the repair replaces EVERY FSX FILE and takes over 1hr

which standard disk is the scenery folder on? which .cab?

I'll just copy and paste (even faster)

or could someone copy and zip their scenery folder and e-mail it to me? bakerboy448(at)fuspammersaimmonkey.com

No, repair only replaces missing and/or corrupted files.

The DVDs are not organized like the files were in FS9, so it is not possible to simply "uncab" the scenery files.

The ..\Scenery folder is ~36 Gigabytes, even with compression it would be an impossible size for any email file attachment. :eek:
 
what does the install program define as currupt?

last time i did it it removed all my add-on aircraft and new paint schemes for the default a/c

also: my C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery
is only 10.3GB (Standard Edition SP2 no Accelleration)
 
Any file that does not match the CRC and/or date/time of the original file.

But, do whatever you wish. I'm done arguing with you on this...
