Here's a can of worms... Fuel consumption and fuel scalars when you are trying to imitate a helicopter with two engines.
I know that the world of helicopter simulation is tied to the Bell 206 model and have come to the conclusion that MSFS doesn't believe in helios having more than one engine so there has to be a lot of fudging done to create at least an appearance of additional engines.
However, try as I might and after lengthy study of the SDK and other forums, I can't get my head around how to get the right fuel consumption.
As I understand it, a scalar, any scalar has a maximum value of 1. It is essentially one half of a ratio between it and the output offset of which ever value it is scaling. i.e. if the offset has a value of 1 and the scalar is 0.5 the result is an output of 0.5.
The combined engine (2) fuel consumption for my model should be approximately 140 gals per hour but I can't get close to this figure. I've tried doubling up rated rpm and fuel flow gain etc but I can't get more than a reported 37 gals p/h.
So, does anybody know where to go to get the consumption I am expecting?
Please don't tell me it's in the .air file... I've created all kinds of havoc playing around with that little monkey!
