• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi guys, I would like to add an fx to deice "trucks". Is possible to attach an fx like a spray to a moving object?

The only way i could think of is using Gmax.....

1.create a box and place it approx where your effect will be
2. use attchtool script to attach the effect to the box
3. LINK the 2 objects....in your case ONLY the truck will have the tick18_ name to it.
4. if done right, you should be able to move the truck and the attach box should follow automatically.

Just remember...the truck should be named tick18_your object name
the box with the attach effect should be named attachpnt_your effect name

this is for gmax only. Im not sure if you will get the desired results or if it will work at all....but you could give it a try.

Dunno how to link them, but you mean group them?

Hello,

To link objects to 1 object:

Select all of the oblects that you want to link to that 1 object then click on the link button up the top in gmax. Then you put the mouse courser over one of the selected objects and hold down the left mouse button and drag then drop on the object 1 then all of the other objects will be linked to the 1 object and name the 1 object Tick18_xxx.

Good luck. :)
