• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX ghost ship

Hi,

Yesterday I spent an hour trying to figure out how come a library object I placed in a scenery turned out to be almost transparent with a greenish shine .
I checked the mdl with MCX to find out if the textures got lost somewhere but everything was OK.
It was not until this morning that I thought of googling "Sulphur Queen" and to discover that it was a vessel that disappeared in 1963.
And it started to dawn on me that its texturing was done that way deliberately.
They should warn people against such jokes :).

I believe that's the ship's from the mission "Lost in the triangle"
put it in the scenery anyways, it would be a good laugh :rotfl:

Object Name

Go into the Object Placement Tool
Go to "ADD", then "SCENERY"
Scroll down to "Gen Plane TBM1c FT117" and it should be the ghost plane. Hope this helps.

Thank you but I had already placed it in a scenery.
That is when I discovered it was semi-transparent (maybe 'soylent') green.

Fortunately this is the "general chat" forum.
There are no ships in "Soylent Green".
Pity MS, at least that is what I read somewhere, does not allow anymore Eastereggs in its programs, otherwise I would try to recreate Bob Shaw's short story "Light of other days" in FS. Magnificent and rather sad (I am both an FS and a SF fan), and I do recommend it.

No... the film was based on the the book 'Make room! Make room!' by Harry Harrison.

Oh, and the book's timeframe: 2022.

Thanks

I used to read a lot of SF but no Harrison. If the book is anything like the movie, might not be what I would read. While I'm sure the book is better, still not my SF taste.

Bob
