• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Walls inside box are transparant, how to make them solid?

I made a bolean operation on a terminal.
But when i am inside the terminal watching at the apron. all the walls are transparant.

How can I make the walls solid from inside the model as well?

Hi,

There are not transparent, they are just not there at all.

One option is to use a double sided material. Or you could draw these walls yourself.

Hey Arno.

thanks for the reply and help :)
Was unsure if there was another way, but since there is not, then I will make a seperate wall and face it against the missing part :)

HINT: Clone the exterior, name it terminal_inside (or some such), then simply "Flip Normals" at the polygon sub-level (if e-mesh) or the Element sub-level (if e-poly).

You can then "paint the interior" using a new Material and bitmap.

Flip Normals

Hi,

Simply flip normals. This is the fastest and easiest way.

Bill already mention it. Heres how it is done step by step.

1.clone another part, don't move it.

2.select that part and right click and convert to mesh

3.now go to modify and select element.

4. (optional) now right click, hovering your mouse over user in the user window. choose configure. a new window opens (viewport configuration) put a checkmark for 'shade selected faces'.
(this will make the part(s) turn red to know if your flipping what you want)

5. Go back to the modify area on right. Scroll down till you see flip normals.
Click once. Now your part is flipped!

6. Select attach and attach both together. then weld poly's. This way you have the same amount of poly's used.

Done!

Hope this helps for developers who do not use flip normals!
