• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Help with a fx file edit question please.

Hello folks, I'm in the learning process here on some things. I have been doing some edits to the FSW Falcon 50 cockpit. Trying to get a little more realism for myself.

I have redone the flood effect on the F50 from that green color, to a more realistic whiteish blue color. I have read the SDK, confused somewhat on what some of the edits will accomplish for me.

Essentially, I wanted to give the flood a brighter appearance under the glareshield were the bulbs are located. However, I'm trying to also make that lighting dimmer or fade a little darker the lower it shines.
Right now, it's just one bright flood.

Think of the effect as if you were using a White to Black/Gray gradient layer on a picture. Hope that makes sense. Is this even possible with the fx file edits.
If so, can someone get me pointed in the right direction please. I've tried the color start and Color End stuff, doesn't seem to help. Then I read were Color start is for Day, and End is for dusk and night.
If I understand the SDK correctly. I am not experienced, I am not a developer. Just learning to use my Photoshop CS6 a little better. Hence this little project.
Not to mention, much happier with my F50 Cockpit lighting now.

Thanks for any assistance.
David
