• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

How do I eliminate photogrammetry vegetation / trees?

I was successful in removing some trees on an airport, but when photogrammetry is enabled, the trees (ugly as they are) are back. How do I eliminate the photogrammetry from that area? I tried using polygons, (remove vegetation), exclusion rectangles, apron, but nothing seems to work.

Thanks in advance

I was able to remove photogrammetry by adding a polygon with TIN-exclusion. Try that and see if it works.

Thank you sir! I tried several things, but not that specifically.

Now if I can get rid of the image of the trees, I'll be ahead of the game!

Know the feeling... I am currently working with a similar issue. Polygon with at TIN-exclusion (either selection box which is relevant for your needs) removes the photogrammetry objects such as trees and buildings, is my experience.

To remove the image of the trees, I created an apron in that area. I then used a material other than concrete that I liked, and colorized it to the surrounding area. I tweaked it enough it looks believable.

SADLY, all of the ground "aprons" I used to cover old taxiways, the above project, and other items ONLY look good when photogrammetry is selected. De-select it, and everywhere I colorized them gets seriously whacked in color. Not sure how to make it work for both modes. Oh well, wash, rinse, repeat.....

How do you mean "whacked in color". Can you show a screenshot?

The top one is with photogrammetry; the bottom one is without photogrammetry. Would sure like to know if there is a way to fix it so that both modes are equally as good! Adjust one for without, it whacks the one with, and vice versa. Not sure if that's possible, both backgrounds are a bit different in colors.

Normal non-bold text size would be fine.

As for photogrammetry, take it up with Asobo and Microsoft. I think that was a bad idea for the sim, but we are stuck with it. There is no fix, other than to turn off all photogrammetry in the sim.

Yea, it's kind of a love / hate thing with this sim. But then again, what isn't? LOL!!

Have tried putting the exclude rectangle with exclude all objects but the grass on apron stays

Is there any fix to solve this issue?

Just to add for the information, that this scenery I am building is an improvement of someone else's freeware scenery. (if that helps)
