How to change autogen on landclasses without agn files

I'm feeling like I'm back in my beginner's days again - one question after the other... :o

As only few landclass types come with their own agn files, it seems others share those agn definitions. That lead to me thinking: If I change the agn files of, for example: #17 "shrub deciduous", this should also change the autogen on #40 "cold grasses and shrubs" as this seems to use the same autogen as #17. But the outlook of #40 autogen does not change. So where are the autogen definitions for those agn-less LC types stored?

Hi Thorsten,

I actually don't know where the agn data for classes are stored that have autogen but no separate agn file set in Scenery\World\texture. Doesn't matter though because FSX (in contrast to FS9) is your oyster when it comes to agn files. Just make new ones with Annotator for your custom texture sets, place them in your local texture folder, and they shall appear, regardless of whether the default equivalent have autogen or not.

Regarding LC17 and LC40: LC17 in Region A (where Iceland resides) uses 066b as textures while LC40 uses 139b as textures. Thus, the autogen definitions would be separate as well and you can make your own for each (custom) texture set or make duplicates so that both sets use the same.

Cheers, Holger

Wow, Holger, a question you cannot answer? :D
Thanks for the clarification. I should read your fantastic excel file more closely (regarding regions), I work with it everyday now. :)

I hoped it would be as easy to simply create my own agn files but didn't succeed. Now I know it was just because I used the wrong region. Thanks!
