• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello,

I am new to this, and it is possible I am overlooking something obvious. If so, please bear with me and tell me what I am doing wrong.

I downloaded the version 1000 package an unzipped it. When it asked me if I want to update to version 1005 I said yes. When it downloaded, I unzipped it into the SAMM1000 folder.

When I then tried to use the program I received the attached message.

Can you tell me what I need to do to correct this?

Jim

Hi Jim,

What directory location are you installing SAMM to?

Example: Mine is installed to C:\Program Files.

Roger that.

Just a thought, but you might try deleting the SAMM folder, and reinstalling SAMM 1000, but this time when you open it, say no to the update prompt, and then see if it opens to the SAMM 1000 User Interface.

If it does, then close SAMM, and restart it, at which point SAMM should again ask you if you want to update, then say yes, overwrite the files, and try again to open SAMM 1005.

Hope this helps.

almwhit, another user has just reported privately a similar problem. It may or may not be the same one you are experiencing. The other problem was an identical exception thrown when SAMM was unable to find the stock aircraft folders. (I'm amazed this bug eluded detection for so long!)

I'll release a fix for that tomorrow. So, if the advice you have received so far doesn't produce results, please be patient and install Release 1.0.06 when its available.

Don

PS: What happens if you just ignore the exception and click continue?
