• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Invalid Child Error

Hi all, sorry if this has been posted before.

I have been adjusting an airport and have had no issues until I started adding gates. Since I have added in the gates I am now getting an "Invalid Child" Child error on the airport. When I select to show error it shows me a birds eye view of the airport and I can't figure out what I have missed or done wrong.

I am also now getting several errors in the console when building the packages which I wasn't getting before the majority relating to the gates for example:

"INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2589: Did not find end Parking Spot #259 needed for Taxi path #1 at airport LERS."
"INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2434: Could not find parking spot for jetway at airport LERS! (gate=NONE, parking=1, suffix=NONE) (line=0)"

this repeats for every gate. I have followed instructions from a YouTube Tutorial to a T but must be doing something wrong.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You could zip your airport XML, and attach it to a post, and then someone might be able to debug it.
 
I believe, after the last update, that you can no longer have parking spots that are not attached to taxiways and it will not compile the airport. The Youtube tutorial is likely out of date now.

Thanks for the reply. The Tutorial is very out of date. I have made sure that all parking and gates were connected.

I'm beginning to think something has happened when I was saving the airport as the XML file is almost blank as if starting a fresh which they were not previously.
