• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

MSFS20 Issues modifying 3rd party gates

Hi all,

I used ADE for many years with P3D to adapte airports (Gates sizes, airline allocations, correcting defaults...), but, I'm struggling to understand how to do it in MFSF!

I would like to change the gates size and adding airlines codes to TFFF Airport form Tropical Sim.

1. I created a new project with ADE and accessed to the airport design.
2. I then increased the size of the gates, and allocate airlines codes
3. I open RDV properties of the airport to apply TRUE to ApplyFlatten and IsOnTIN (I have understood that is necessary to do so to avoid missing buildings and terrain variations)
4. I then Saved my project and Built it.
5. I replaced the original .bgl file in my Community folder.

BUT when using MFSF, only the size of the Gate as changed, no airline allocation and Buildings disappeared.

I have tried reopening ADE, and only Gate sizes has changed! Each time I allocated airline code, when reopening ADE it is not taken into account in my project
Did I miss something?

I have been trying the same for a while and am faced with exactly the same problem. What I read is that the current state of MSFS and the ADE will not let you edit the ADEs from this party creators. I actually come here regularly to check if something has changed, today because of the release of SU 11. But clearly it all seems the same and you have to rely on the creators of the scenery to give you a decent ADE along with it...
 
Probably 2 things to remember. First, import the MSFS BGL into ADE. If that works, then secondly, you only need to have the runway, taxiway, and jetway system ( and watch what you delete ). Attached is the default KMSN. It only changes the parking designation of one spot to AAL (American Airlines). The rest of the system is duplicated. I delete only those elements for re-creation and leave the rest of the airport as default. You'll need to pay attention to any payware materials, as these may be unique to the runway and taxiway system.
