Ok..this is something I noticed and was just plain cool to witness.
I pulled into my airport (in FSX) about 1 minute before 2 flights request clearance. I had just installed my vehicle pathways.
As I sat watching, a fuel truck cruised up to the first plane, and backed in next to it nicely. I swear, I was waiting for a little dude to get out and start pulling a hose.. (yeah, I really was..it was just that cool and real)
After about a minute, it pulled off and the plane instantly called for clearance. Oddly, before this time, the two planes always called for clearance within 1 minute of me connecting. Usually like 30 seconds. One right after the other. Yet, the second plane still had not asked for clearance. So I jumped over there real quick...total other side of the airport. And here came my fuel truck...pulled right up next to the DC-3 and again, I waited for the little man to get out..hehe
About 30 seconds to a minute went by and as it pulled away, the clearance request came in.
I have never just sat and watched what is going on before. But as I don't have a ton done yet, and was bored, I thought this was very cool. Now I understand why I must put the fuel truck parking spots all around the airport. I don't want planes sitting and waiting.
Does anyone know if multiple trucks will drive around and fuel planes at once? I ask because I have 5 spots and 5 fuel trucks, but only 1 went around the airport.
Just wanted to share this cool little thing in case anyone else didn't notice this happens before every call for clearance.
