• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Line Tool

Russell, I am certainly enjoying the work that I am able to do with FSX Planner. I have a small request; would it be too much trouble toadd a line tool, as the line tool helps me in keeping my taxiways straight, etc. I need some explanation on all the taxiway and taxiway point choices. Could it be possible to combine the taxiway path and the taxiway itself? I am remembering the way afcad worked. If any of my request are off the wall, I will not feel bad if you say; No Way! Many Thanks for a great program.

I think once we write the manual that will help a lot!

What do you mean by combine the taxiway path and the taxiway itself?

What is the difference in the taxiway tool that draw the taxiway and the taxiway path option? I assume that the path option outline the path for the AI to follow and that the tool it self is used for the drawing of the taxiways. Being a newbie may be the reason why I am missing the understanding of this all. Many thanks. George

Oh I see. Within FS taxiways can be assigned various different type, Taxiway, Path, Vehicle, etc. The Taxiway and Path options only differ in that the Path option doesn't draw a taxiway on the ground. So you might use the Path option if you have a grass runway that you want to get to, or have AI planes get to, but don't want a taxiway drawn to it.

My apologies for any confusion surrounding my request. Many Thanks, I now understand the difference between the two and as well as how toput them to use. It all now makes sense to me. I wll continue to enjoy this much needed tool. I also look forward to the manual. Thanks to Russell for all your hard work.
