• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

LOD13 grid in FS9

OK, experts.......I am not sure if what I am seeing has been if FS9 since day one or if I did something to cause it. I have a rough 'circle' of LOD13 grid squares 9x9 horizontal & vertical centered on my aircraft that is noticeably lighter than all the rest of the scenery in the area. This rough 'circle' moves with the aircraft. Is this a normal thing?? I have attached a screen capture to help. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks
Fred Z.

Any comments??

Am I the only one who has experienced this or is it normal and I just did not notice???

Thanks, George. I noticed this quite a while ago but with all the tinkering that I have been doing, I could not remember if it had been there all along. :o

Yes Fred, here's a shot I took in 2004.

Hi Fred,

it seems though as if the scale of your "issue" is quite different from the normal extent of the detailed terrain textures.

Have you by chance replaced the detail1.bmp, in \Scenery\World\texture, with a replacement version? The default has a date stamp of 5/21/2003.

Cheers, Holger

Holger, sorry for the delay in reply. You are correct! I had once installed Bill Lyons 'Silver Wings' add-on and then removed it. That file was not changed back but I think that it should have been as it was in a folder labeled 'SW backup' All is well now, thank you very much.
