• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello,
I need some help with editing the Multi-player Radar screen to draw lines (Departure Lines) I looked in the Gauges and under the "Radar.cab" file and everything but the radar screen that I wanted was there... please help!

Isaac

That screen is dynamically created by the fs9gps.dll module, so what you want to do is not easily accomplished.

You can drawn some user-defined lines on the radar screen, by enabling the radar to display a "flight plan", and making a flight plan that consists of a route that are the lines you wish to draw.

The PURPLE lines are drawn using this technique.

You will need some basic FSX XML experience to modify the radar's XML.

Geoff,

Do you think in your spare time you could make me one, I need it for Oshkosh certain departures...

P.S I know you from FS-MP and have your radar update for your server

Well, 99% of the work is done for you, if you go grab the RADAR update from my FSMP site.

As for the flight plan "Sector Files", that is something you really need to learn to do yourself.

They are Just FLIGHT Plans. You can manipulate then in the FS x Flightplan EDITOR. Later, as you gte more advanced, you can also edit them in Notepad, and do further customization.

Learn to do it yourself, then you will not need to keep relying on others to do it for you.

Geoff

PS: If you look, amongst the Sector Files examples on the website, there should be one for the KOSH Fisk arrivals :)

If you are wanting a fixed (non-zoomable) display range, you could possibly create a transparent overlay to be drawn after the dynamic map...

With a bit more effort, you could even have multiple overlays that matched zoom levels... :)
