• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Enter the new Avelina. Actually its been in progress over a year, perhaps 2. A design I have had for a plane that would compete against the Cessna Carvalis and Lancair ES, with an automotive style interior, dual hybrid propulsion system, tail end 'silenced' exhaust, with electric power up to 50% at which point the engine kicks in. The dash board is taking styling ques from the Porsche Cayan and Infiniti automobiles.

Should be fun.

Nice for your own design -- you should see if any kit makers would be willing to manufacturer it! Great job on that William! :) :D

Thanks John,

I havent done any of the weight and balance work, nor the airfoils. Just a 'what if' for now. It would be nice to see it produced.

XPand,

I prefer the 'extreme' prototype concepts myself. :)

This one does have some radical 'things' it will have packaged up in it. The windows for instance are electric 'roll-down' types and double pain for sound cancellation. They auto-raise when you exceed a certain speed. So it does have some crazy gadgetry in it.

I cant believe that no one makes windows that lower anymore in aircraft. Alot of them had this in the past. Hand cranked windows, like the the Staggerwing Beech.

Yesteryday, I did something rather radical.

I noticed that the passengers shoulders were 'in' the side door panels. I went out and measured my own car which was far more then a normal plane, but had an idea of what to work with, (60 inches). So I hid all the non-concerned parts (little knobs and landing gear, etc), and kept in all the hull parts (doors, inner doors, interior cabin walls, fuselage, wings, etc), and then used FFF3x3x3 on it in Gmax and scaled out the cabin area only until their shoulders were free of the inner door panels.

I had to do that twice. Once went to 60 inches and she looked pregnant and to much room on the sides inside. I rescaled it again (thank goodness for continuous saves during the process) and rescaled once again, only enough, and Voila.. I went through and cleared the scales on the parts involved. The second of three exports during the processes, I got a OBED scale error. I went back a step and rescaled 'all' parts from the scaling process and the OBED error was gone.

The fuselage was already mapped, so doing this was risky, but it worked out nicely. If there were rivet patterns, then I would have to remap the girl. She is composite though, so no worries..

Thank the Lord for that FFF3x3x3 tool!

Bill
