• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

New computer

Hi everyone,

After a long, long time on FS2002 (which I still enjoy but conscious of the limits compared to FS2004) I finally found my father in law ready to give me a birthday present in the form of a new computer from Aldi with Windows Vista.
In the meantime I hev read that this Aldi computer is rather oldfashioned regarding processor and graphics card (Intel® Pentium® D Processor 915, NVIDIA® GeForce™ 7300SE).
I am wondering whether I will be able to run FSX on it or whether I will have to buy a new graphics card and a newer more powerful proscesor or if I will have just a better fs2002 experience.
You cannot look a given horse in the mouth as they say in Dutch but I would appreciate some feedback on this.

Thanks,

Roby

Hi Roby,

I belatedly wish you a happy birthday and congratulations for your new PC - even though I dont like these Aldi Computers ;)
The main problem with this machines is, that they are often not compatitible to non-Aldi-periphery...

Generally: FSX will run on your Computer!
I have a Athlon 2800, 1.5 DDR RAM and a Geforce 6800 - and it works not bad at all. Just give it a try, you'll love it!

Regards
Vitus
