• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Another thought. I notice you actually have two [contact points] labels in your config. Delete the second one.

Tom,
I'd lay money on the duplicate labels issue as being the cause.
Well spotted!

Well dang... I never knew those section heading labels did anything.

Deleted the top one; plane sat perfect. Adjusted height back down, lovely...
Hit Slew key, plane sunk into ground, release Slew, plane plops up back onto the tires. CG Height and angle were 'above' the section heading label. I dropped them under the section label and Voila...

All my years of flight sim building, never knew about this.

Thanks Roy for getting me to check into this.

Thanks Tom for spotting that. Very interesting... Now to go test this airfile set! :D

So all those times I added little things to config files thinking I could place strings anywhere, and got 'no function', this was why....

Man... I am so glad I did that. Thanks Roy and Tom. This airfile is 1000x better then the Extra 300. Its my old Bucker Bu181 Bestmann files. Much more gentle for lining up wiht the runway on approach, ground taxiing, etc.

That's good to hear Bill, and noted for future reference. :)

edit: should anyone wonder, without contact points the model will drop until the model centre hits the ground.

Tom that sums it up nicely.

And, of course, once the program found the first [contact points] section it stopped looking for the section where they were listed.
