• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Objects not showing

Hi,
the last few days i have been unable to see objects in MSFS after i insert them, all i get is a box (image below) . I'm hoping i havent accidently changed any settings......but before this i could insert hangars and buildings after converting without any problems. I'm using sketchup to create the buildings. This is seriously doing my head in.

I can still insert old objects into the sim.

Thanks

This happens when the sim detects a model, but there is no model code to render. It has nothing to do with MCX and it's curious why you'd blame one of the softwares in your development process and not the sim software itself. The most likely cause, is over complexity, or in other words, the sim is overloaded. We could confirm this with a sample that you probably should provide.

Please try to consider that many, many people use MCX. If it is defective, we likely would not learn it from someone who'd never posted at FSDeveloper before it happened - and welcome, by the way. Of the many people who do use MCX, some of us have problems, we do complex things and it is complex software. Informing, "It does not work, like it did before," informs discontentment, which is not addressed here. Informing methods, softwares used, work performed, failed samples, provide the metrics, that can define the root of the problem.

Hi Bindook,

I would check if the log in MSFS contains any useful information why the object might not show.

Rick, I don't see anywhere that MCX is being "blamed" for this issue, so why start such a rant about that? This is a normal question about why something suddenly does not work anymore. It's not very encouraging to answer in such a way and our aim here is to have FSDeveloper as a friendly community for all (including new users).

Hi All,
thanks for your help. I finally got the models showing up again in MSFS. By chance i came across a "unknown" object in the scenery, ended up being about 8 of them. Once deleted , new models were showing up again :)

Thanks
