• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Photoshop help...

Hi guys,

I'm having a bit of trouble with this and was looking for some help.

What I need is to draw the black shapes below, but keeping the two inside edges perfectly parallel so I can fill the interior with red afterward.

Then I need to put a green strip on the two parallel edges like on the wing below.

Any suggestions?

Hey Kevin,

I have learned to do some little 'tricks' to getting such effects in graphics.

One is to select the graphics area on a layer (Left Click the Layer Icon for that layer on right), click Copy/Paste (control C/Control/V), creating a new layer. Then with it selected (as described above), click 'Select/Modify/Expand' and expand the area, then 'Fill' the entire area (right click and select Fill).

You can then get rid of the outer edges on certain sides by selecting other layers, then going to that layer you are modifying, and use the 'selection zones' as cutting tools to trim the area into the stripe as like you need.

It may be hard to picture from what I wrote, but its terribly easy. Just use layers against each other as cutting templates and guides, using Selection/Modify/Expand, Selection/Modify/Contract, etc, and use Fill as well.

You can also revert a Selection into a 'Work Path', so its editable. Doesnt always work well for me (too many adjusters), but it might for you.

I recommend playing around and experimenting.. I have learned more about PS by playing around and trying idea's, then by anything else.
