• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Hi,

To complement Matthias's superb sceneries (Project Africa), I wanted to try to realize Madagascar island. Two or three days to understand and try to make the Ortho4XP_FSX_P3D program functionnal and I launch my PC on this project last week.

I finished it yesterday. I use Ortho4XP_FSX_P3D v1.30, Bing imagery and ZoomLevel 16 (2.4 m/pixel). To downlad and created scenery and texture ( autogen) my 9900K has to work 5 days in order to download all tiles necessary and create the autogen for it: 134 Go are required for this job.

The result is mixed: I used Bing because I prefer colorimetry but there are a lot of clouds that appears on the ground. It is not very important for me, but there are some joints of tiles (3 or 4 junctions in the North of Madagascar island) that cause problems: some areas at the limit of 2 tiles are poorly defined.
On this image, areas upper the airplane (left upper):

As final result level, I have 134 GB of data but
- some tiles are duplicated (at the junctions between tiles but I do not count them) and I created a batch to copy only one occurrence of each file (final scenery: 126 Go).
- autogen is present but not every where you can find tree area's (OSM is poor or scenproc parameters are not good enought : bush zones)

I think what theses junctions which make problems are precisely on theses duplicates files and that theses files that I do not copy are perhaps the solution ... it is necessary that I pass again on the batch in order to find a solution for theses poor junctions.
