• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Runtime error 68

Having installed the latest runtime version of MDL Tweaker II I get Runtime error 68 Device unavailable when I try to load the program. In the bottom "Checking MDL Tweaker license" is displayed when the loading process stops.

Im using Win XP on an AM2 processor.

Humm, that is a weird error I haven't seen before. Have you maybe configured your computer in a way so that you don't have a C drive?
 
Humm, OK. Seems to be my fault than that it is not working :). Let me try to explain.

When looking for a way to check if the user has read and agreed to the user license, I wan't to store that state with a sort of unique number in the configuration file. So not simply a read=TRUE or so, as that might be too easy to tweak. So in the end I used the key of the C drive, assuming that every machine would have that.

So now it seems you are the first person that has not, but unfortunately this also means that I can not fix your problem without changing the tool. I will change the checked drive to the one where the tool is installed in the next version. But I don't know when that version will be there (or not even sure if I will release a new version).
 
Yes, my computer must be quite special. The reason the drive is called D: is because it is a new harddrive that I had to partition and format (before installing Windows on it) from the old drive wich was C:. It is an upgrade version of Windows so I was not able to install it without having Windows already installed on the computer. Microsoft made the harddrive change very complicated for me. When I had installed Windows and removed the old drive from the computer the new one didnt change to C: After that I have spent quite some time trying to change it to C without any luck.

While I'm waiting I will use my secondary computer to modify my MDLs so take your time :)
