SAMM Afterburner on Static Aircraft

First let me say that I think SAMM is a terrific tool and I am very appreciative that we have it available to us.

For the most part, I've been able to use SAMM without any real issues except for one that I cannot seem to find a way to resolve.

I have been converting the default F-18 airplanes from FSX / Acceleration and when I take a look at the result in the viewer, the airplane shows up with the afterburners running. When I use Instant Scenery 2 to place the static airplane, it appears with the afterburners running.

I would like to use these default planes without the afterburners on. If anyone knows a fix or procedure for modifying the textures or some other part of the SAMM file to eliminate the afterburner, I would very much appreciate the assistance. Thanks.

Modifying the textures likely will leave you with afterburners of a different color.

Without analysing the model, it would seem the afterburner "switch" is a variable that is initialized in the wrong state. The only way to fix this is use the source listing and Listings & Tool panel to determine what contols the afterburners and set it appropriately.

Of course, yoi could find another F-18 (iy doesn't have to be a FSX model).

Turning off afterburner on static aircraft

Don,

Thanks for the quick response.
I've tried using the Listing and Tools that you provide with SAMM but didn't have any luck figuring out how to reset the afterburner initialization state.

I'm going to give that another go and see if I get lucky.
But as you say --- there are other models out there that I can and will try as another alternative.

Thanks again for giving the community such a great tool.
