• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

SAMM1010 problems

Hey!
I just started using SAMM1010 since a couple of houres ago... But I don't know what I may have done wrongly....

What I did up to now with the program is as follows....

As soon as I open SAMM it generates 3 empty folders: Libraries - Listings - Models and a ini-file.

I made a special folder in my FS9 named "Aircraft Static" which is always close to the regular aircraft-folder, and where I intend to place only aircraft files of which I want to place static aircraft somewhere on an airport.
I made this special folder because aircraft in this folder will not be seen/counted when FS9 starts and wil hence not require extra loading-time.

I have now one aircraft in that folder and the name is "AI A400 BAF" and which is the regular complete AI-aircraft.

When I open SAMM in FS9-mode I select in the extra made folder the aircraft, and I select one of the aircraft titles, and in the Static Model Section of thhe SAMM-Window that name appears also where it is supposed te be.

For the time being I don't nothing else but Save my mdl-file. A message tells me that the panel is missing, but I don'tcare because I don't need the panel. That model is now in the Models folder.

So far so good.

Now I want to save the bgl-file, and as soon as I click a new window asks me to give LLAH values. These values are N50* 54.6708'- E4* 29.2082'- 327.74° - 184ft When I fill out these values in the wiondows where they belong. I click 'Set Position' and see the converted values, and then I click 'Compile Scenery Model'.
On that moment the program asks me where to save it, and then I created a new folder to put these Scenery Models in.

However I got the following error message:
INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR C1003: Failed to create MSXML object! (0x80040154)
Parsing document: E:\FS9 Programs\SAMM1010\Models\AI A400M BAF 1\AI A400M BAF 1.xml
ERROR C2470: Unrecoverable error parsing XML!
ERROR C2006: Parse failed (0x80004005)
ERROR C2003: Failed to process file: E:\FS9 Programs\SAMM1010\Models\AI A400M BAF 1\AI A400M BAF 1.xml

So, here I don't know what I should do....

Furthermore, when I click "Make Library", I get a new window showing my aircraft to be present here as AI A400M BAF 1, where I suppose the "M" means that it is a model in the Object Library, and the "1" is maybe also something specific on compiled models.
So I fill out the Libary name as "Personlal Library 1" and I check 'Save Library" to Add-on Scenery folder....

And now the I'm stuck.... I'm lost... I don't know anymore what I should do.

My question now is: what to do next, or, did I do wrong somewhere?

So far so good.
Not really. The "missing panel" message wasn't issued by SAMM. At this point, SAMM has created a scenery .mdl file only - and panels aren't required for scenery.

Parsing document: E:\FS9 Programs\SAMM1010\Models\AI A400M BAF 1\AI A400M BAF 1.xml
"AI A400M BAF 1"??? Did you rename the XML file? SAMM would have retained the original aircraft name unless you instructed otherwise.

However, the changed model name may have nothing to do with the problem. Depending on the update history of your system, it may just be that your msxml function (part of the operating system) is out of date. You can download the latest version here http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?DisplayLang=en&id=19662. (If you do a web search on the error message, you'll get several thousand hits.)

If it's not msxml, please send me a copy of the .xml file you are trying to compile.

And now the I'm stuck.... I'm lost... I don't know anymore what I should do.
If the library actually was generated, you should be able to place the static model using any of several opject placement utilities.

Hey! Don,
You were right!
I renewed the msxml.msi to version 4 and everything is OK now! Thank you!
