• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

SBuilder - map calibrating prob

First a "Hello" to all here. I did a search at different forums but nothing I found helped to solve my problem.

I cannot do a clean calibration of my bitmap in SBuilder. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I tried differnet ways using tutorials which are on ptsim forum and here - I was using TCalc, LMWviwer and other tools but I'm to stupid to get a map in SBuilder with correct coordinates.

The island tutorial I found Icannot use because its an older version of SB that I have (2.05_r1).

Maybe someone can give me a step by step list how I can get a bmp to work right. There are also no german tutorials because my english is not the best.
hopefully to get help here! :)

regards

Hi Michael!

Could you try to describe in a little more detail that it is that does not work? Are your coordinates wrong, does the map not show up, or anyting else?

Yea... that's a good first question. Do you have coordinates for the photograph at all? If not you will have to get at least two coordinates, like from two objects that you see in the photo.

my problems are how to calibrate the map - I use Tcalc for the coordinates, I call up the map.bmp and then I get instructed to calibrate - and here I have troubles. I go to calibrate photomap and put in the coordinates given from Tcalc. but these are not the same as the coordinates in the corners. so i had to move with the aircraft in slewmode to the corners and the coordinates are going wrong because I cannot find the starting point in the middle of the map.
there also I have a problem with the screensize - I use 1280 in the sim and Sbuilder uses 1024. hope you can bring in some light.
Thanks for helping!

Hi!

If you are certain that the coordinates that you have acquired from Tcalc are the right ones, then you do not need to calibrate the BMP by clicking in the corners (which is indeed quite hard!). You just enter the coordinates and press OK, then the map will be placed as you want it to be.

(When the message "you must calibrate..." shows up, just press ok. Then right-click the edge of the bitmap and enter the coordinates in the properties dialog. Once this is done you are all set!)

Regarding the screensize - I do not understand what kind of problem that might be? SBuilder can be adjusted just like any other program.
