• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

You could use Paint, but it is not the program with most features. You are better of if you try a real painting program. If you want something free you could try Paint .NET or the GIMP.

Also have a look at ImageTool, as you might need it to turn your textures into the extended format that FS uses (or to convert them from it to something the paint program can read).

I think so, but I am not sure.

I got something to work though it doesnt make it look very realistic but it is better than nothing here i will go through the steps but first i will tell u what i used: i used Ultimate Paint© (Bitmap editor sort of like paint) and DDS converter 2.
the steps: (i used Boeing 747 for this)
1. ok i went into the main texture folder with the dds converter and found the Main texture file and converted it into Bitmap
2. i used altimate paint and put painted it
3. i converted it back to dds
( i did it a few time to see my progress)
4 when i was finally done it actully worked
5. i went into the aircraft config. file and found out how to make a new texture.

my "troubleshooting"
1. when i use the "plain white" 747 and when i go to use the one i made it makes that one and sometimes all of the other 747's white
why is it doing this?

i was surprised that this did work though:D:)
