Hi, All
Time for me to learn how to change elevation of terrain.
I have no intentions of "correcting" the mesh in FS to make the world look better. All I want is to make, for example, the Meteor Crater in Arizona look better, or maybe make the volcano Vesuvius look more like Vesuvius.
I managed to figure out how to change ground texture with the SDK, so I am not completely raw in undestanding the "tiling" of the ground.
I find the document "Creating Terrain and Land Classification", which explains how to go from "raw" elevation data to a bgl, absolutely pathetic.
1. Is there an explanation, tutorial, tips, or a thread somewhere that shows in a bit more detail, with a few more basics, what the raw data is supposed to look like, etc.?
2. Also (this maybe totally unrealistic), is there a way of creating a DEM file by hand for a rough aproximation of a localized hill, for exmple just taking some guesses on what the elevation should be for a few hundred points? I definitely cannot afford to buy the Data Elevation Data Model for the Vesuvius...
Thanks, All.
