• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I have a problem trying to adjust mig21bis engine performance

I have managed to adjust the real figures at max dry power and afterburner at sea level. But with height they are not performing like the real thing.

Yes I can adjust afterburner power at mach speeds not reached at low level using table 1524. But I need to adjust max dry power, and I can not find the way to do it. Any idea? Should I made the same that I have made with 1526 but with 1506?

Thank you

Hi
Fs doesn't model this in relation to fast jets very well......
What I tend to do is set it for the correct speed at height rather than sea level. This will mean the speed at sea level will be to fast and you will get a sim overspeed warning, so I tend to
A: raise the overspeed warning setting to 10% to 20% higher than recommended....... I do the same for the max G load its silly that the aircraft go's boom if you hit the manufacturers recommended max.I know for a fact that even in training real world jet fighters pilots sometimes get a little aggressive and pop over the max G.....and they dont got boom or get a life reset.....ok ok the crew chief will give you a kick in the **** as he now has a long week ahead of him :)

B: drop the pitch moi in the aircraft.cfg so the nose starts to bounce at about 5% over manufacturers recommended max.....she's breaking up she's breaking .........BOOM!....we have the technology to rebuild him....opps showing my age ;)

C: Most mil jets will have a panel warning light for overspeed,so some xml code will see that it lights at the recommended max speed rather than the sims overspeed warning

D: you can also use some hidden xml kungfu to alter the speed and or handling at sea level and tweak the control surfaces in the airfile to lock up at a certain speeds....or if you wanna go truly Hollywood style you can even make the controls reverse at a certain mach :D
