Tick18 animations?

Messages

HI,
I am trying to convert some FS9 AI models to P3Dv4 format. The original model has a loop animation that animates the pilots head scanning the sky. In FS9 this was done by a tick18 animation. In FSX / P3D the same effect can be done using Ambient as the animation code.

Unfortunately the tick18 animation doesn't seem to be imported into MCX (not even as an unknown or userdef animation).

Is there anyway to get this tick18 animation into MCX?

BTW the model is the NBAI F-22

Thanks
Gavin

Hi,

Are you using the latest development release of MCX? That should read most animations.

I use the latest (downloaded today), it does not import the tick18 animations. I also do not see a variable for tick18 in the "Set Conditions Variables" window.

Can I have a model to test with?

Arno, attached an FS9 AI model, the pilot head in the highest LOD has a tick18 animation in FS9. Thanks for looking into this!

Hi Martin,

I had a look at the model, but I can't find the answer yet. I suspect there is some condition on the animation, so that another variable needs to have a specific value before the animation is played. If that variable has the wrong value when importing the model, the animation can be skipped. This is probably done with the user variable form you get at the start of the import.

But from looking at the model code, I can't spot yet which user variable that would be.
