• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Take a small portion of your model and compile it to confirm that this message is no longer present.

I deleted most of the models and left the jetway model. Exported it with no issue. With terminal + jetway, this error will appear. May i know the issue and you highlighted TOO BIG. May i know the problem for this?

You need to provide more specific information to properly diagnose the issue and based on what I have seen your model appears to be too big in terms of polygon complexity. I understand it is probably difficult to know what information to specify or you could happily fix it yourself, but just try to be a little more descriptive if possible. You could upload your model or describe the software and creation process you used. The fact that a small portion compiled without error is a good clue to the problem.
Now you may decide to divide your large model up into smaller models to place individually and thus overcome the polygon compilation limitations, but I would advise against this work around because the simulator has a limited capacity and if the large model had issues, a collection of smaller models that amount to the same complexity in the same location will likely also have issues.

It is a good idea to examine default models of a similar design and purpose to get an idea of what can be expected to function. In my interpretation, 3d modeling for this platform has two levels of challenge. The first is learning how to add complexity, the second is learning how to remove it.
;)

Can you post the start of the errors? You only posted the last errors, but usually the first one that is reported shows the problem.

For some reason XtoMDL doesn't like the X file that was generated. The error message usually gives a clue why.

@arno this is the image of the error.

I haven't seen this error before. It seems some string is too long.

How complex (how many triangles) is the model you are exporting?
