• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Trees

Good eve everybody!

I just placed a flatten-file in my scnery. It to me like the autogen was excluded aswell? I used the "Airport_Backgrounds_Flatten". I also have placed areas with "LandClassPoly_Conifer_Forest". On the top of the flatten file. Is't possible to let trees grow on this landclass or do I have to place every tree manually?

Thank you!

I haven't tried what you are doing, but this might work:

Place your flatten polygon shape first.

Poly_1 tag : Airport_Backgrounds_Flatten

Then place your second polygon.

Poly_2 tag LandClassPoly_Conifer_Forest.

I think for this one to 'show through' your first polygon, you will need to make a copy of poly 2 (call it Poly_2_PH), and use the tag PolygonHole.

Then the trick is to place the polygonhole in the right order.

So you end up with:

Poly_1 (tag is Airport_Backgrounds_Flatten)
Poly_2_PH (tag is PolygonHole)
Poly_2 (LandClassPoly_Conifer_Forest)

The polygon hole will effectively cut a hole in the airport flatten, and allow the forest to show through.

Hope that helps.

Hmmmm,

You'll need to let us know, my guess is that the patch of ground that the hole 'lets through' might not be flattened.

Good luck,
