• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Whisplacer update

Thanks for mentioning this.

After trying out an very early version earlier, I now installed 0.9. But I have a little problem, when I start the tool for the first time it wants to import objects from the default libraries. That is fine with me of course, but it does not import any and reports some errors. For example:

Error reading model {F16BC900-A303-403A-A0B7-3DE21314B8DB} from missions_redbull_sf.bgl : org.lc0277lib.flightsim.mdl.MDL.<init>(Lorg/lc0277lib/flightsim/mdl/MDLFactory;Ljava/nio/ByteBuffer;)V
Added 0 models

So now I have no objects to place :). Does anybody else have this problem or maybe a suggestion on how to fix this?

I've grabbed a couple of screen shots to send to LC, as I have much the same. I'm tinkering with it now, so I'll check and see if these objects are showing as placeable.

Just got a email from LC and he said to please download again it is fixed now.

I'll check it out again. But indeed this program is great, it seems I don't have to worry about making an ObPlacer XML update anymore, this tool offers all we need for FSX and is free as well :).

The latest version indeed works perfectly and it loads my old ObPlacer XML created files fine as well. So this must be the tool to use for FSX :).

What I like best is that it is not only free but the source (Java) is freely availble also. It is how I am learning Java. Thanks again Lamont.
