Aircraft designers sometimes face the problem that their aircraft shows too small (or too big) in the rotating preview within FS. This size is controlled by the radius set within the MDL file, but there is no way to directly set it when modelling. The compiler calculates it for you, but unfortunately is sometimes wrong. The Radius Editor (or RADItor for short) is a small tool to help you correct such trouble.
Here are the steps to use it:
- Press the ... button to select the MDL file you want to tweak.
- Press the Read button to read the information from this file. When the reading has finished successfully, the name, GUID, radius and bounding box of the object are displayed.
- You can now edit the radius and bounding box information as you which. The name and GUID are displayed for information only and can not be edited.
- When you are done editing press the Write button and your changes will be written back into the MDL file. Be sure to keep a backup if you are not sure the new values will be an improvement.
That's all! Enjoy!
