• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Thanks Thorsten, that's really appreciated ;) The font looks great. The only thing I would change in the future is the size of the arrows (make them a bit bigger). For now , I just draw them at a bigger font size so no big deal. After all, it's 10 times easier than drawing them manually and 10 times more realistic! :D

I have probems in Word 2000.

Typing in the first lline is OK until I press space or return when the font and kerning of the first character changes.

Typing in upper-case changes the font and closes up the kerning.

I guess that's related to the way Word2000 handles fonts and paragraphs. I originally created the Font in order to use it in Photoshop, where it works just fine.

Please note that the Font is WIP (unfinished progress, you might add) and I never really found the time to clean it up. It served my use, and I wanted to share it with others. Hope it works for you if you know how to handle its issues. :)
 
I have no problems with another other fonts - Windows 7 has some 470 fonts.

It also appears that your font does not include the ICAO kerning standard so gives unrealistic spacing between characters, unless they are kerned by hand.
 
why does the font have a different font in the first of evey line?

The reason for that is that to make things easier - I only included lower case. So if you type 'f', the result will be an 'F' (because there are no lowercase letters on ICAO Twy signs). That's why the uppercase 'T' in the preview dummy sentence looks different from the other 'lowercase' letters. Sounds stupid, but I hope you still understand the idea.

@mgh: that's right, the kerning isn't something I payd much attention to back then, that's one of the WIP-issues. Another is that I indeed forgot to add the roman numerals or just wasn't aware that they're not just 'I's.

If somebody wants to improve the font, I can send the source files (I used font forge for Mac if I'm not mistaken).
 
Another point, you do need to include lower case in some instances. A tricky one this because for example "m" is used in the xml code. But it is also used to advise pilots of take-off distance for example. Perhaps you could use another keyboard character and get it to print "m".

In the official ICAO document I used, there were no lower case letters, although those "m" are in several airport design documentations. Not sure if there is a blueprint for it.
 
I cant access the Arrows, it says Shift + 1-8 but if i do that it just writes the normal characters like ! " § $..
