• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Hello,

I have decided that the Island of Corsica needs a bit of attention and I have decided to work on Figari-Sud Corse Airport. It's located down south of Corsica and it's only a 5km drive to the town of Figari.

The airport is busy during the summer because a lot of airlines only serve this airport seasonally:
British Airways
easyJet
easyJet Switzerland
HOP!
Luxair
Ryanair
Swiss International Airlines
Volotea

Air France serves this airport six times a week all year round.
Air Corsica also serves this airport weekly all year round, but they fly to London-Stansted and Lyon as well during season time.

I would say that the taxiways are 90% complete. A few final touches are needed and then I can start working on making the terminal. The taxiway surface has also been made and will be applied when the taxiways are finished.

It's my first time making an airport that doesn't use default taxiways and buildings and I'll see how it goes along the way.
 
Good idea, carry on with this Project, I have been flying around Corsica many times during my Commercial/IFR-Rating Training years ago. Beautyfull place!!!!
 
I just want to show you my support, happy someone is taking on Corsica finally :) When ypu do design the airport please have in mind that not everyone use FTX Global for scenery. I am sure I am not alone in wishing that you please can make the airport FranceVFR photoscenery compatible so that it blends well colorwise.

I didn't plan on using photoreal scenery but I can always give it a try and see. Although, copyright is an issue and I'm not really sure on what to do from there onwards.
 
I have now given the apron some textures. It will need enhancing (tyre marks). Annoyingly, the outline textures for the red crosshatches won't show up.

Hi, are your still working on this Figari project? We really need a good Figari airport freeware or payware. I created the whole Island of Corsica in beautiful high resolution 50cm/pixel using Ortho4XP (p3d edition) absolutely free. Its amazing to fly over a photo realisic landscape, so much better than landclass scenery in my opinion. I will be happy to try your scenery out in combination with various photosceneries. I also own the payware product Corse Photo HD from FranceVFR that many people use.

I am still working on Figari, however, it's taking much more time than it did back in December because all of this work is being done during my free time. As the holidays are now over, I do not have as much free time than I usually do.

I'll give the Ortho a try to see how it goes, although photoreal scenery tends to remove trees, buildings, scenery, etc. This scenery will be released as freeware.
 
Yes true. fortunately though there is a free VFR package for Corsica that sits on top of any ortho you throw at it with both autogen buildings and trees but also landmarks and cities etc. Check out http://www.f-bmpl.com/index.php/corse its great. Include all Corsica airports as well but those are average quality
