• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi! I am new here...

Can someone help me with this issue I am having when importing a model in .mdl format into
GMAX 1.2 using NWmax v0.8 b61. When i Import the MDL file I get the following error message:

-- No ""get"" function for undefined

What do I have to do to fix the problem? Is this even possible? I do not have Flight Simulator
installed. I only need the model for a school project. So I want to import it to GMax and
Export it as a 3DS file.

Please can someone help me???!!!

So there is no way of importing any Flight Simulator models into GMAX? I just need to zoom in on certain parts of the aircraft models. I am NOT going to change anything on the model. Its for a school project!

Can someone give me some ideas? I can not afford to buy the professional models which cost over $100 each :(

No, you can't import a MDL and you also can't export as 3DS file from GMax. If you just want a picture you might load the MDL in one of the viewers that is available and make a screenshot of that.

Hi,

One is my ModelConverterX tool, available from its own subforum. The other is a viewer made by our forum user decapod, available in this thread.
