• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Examples of how to create roads

Are there any good examples anyone has seen on how to create roads with scenproc? I read through the manual and didn't see much other than how to create things next to roads... I think there was one example, but it didn't work for me. Do I need to modify the .shp file into something else? Thanks.

    Weirdest thing with DetectFeatures export...

One thing I noticed is some issues in some places in ScenProc with FULL Directory Paths, the ImportOGR path works fine with full paths, but then some of the other functions will not generate autogen if you put the full directory path (like in the SplitGrid), so I always do this: (FULL PATH)...

    Black edges WGS84 imagery

If you want an even simpler manual solution to get rid of the black lines, open Adobe and copy and paste a few pixel wide/high area over the black edges where it meets the content. Then use the Adobe healing brush or patch tool to blur it out if you have to. I mean this is a bit of a workaround...

    Ultra Hi-Res Trees

Link not working again, are these still available?

    Black edges WGS84 imagery

You can try reprojecting them with the switch to ignore no data area, or another solution is when you have black pixel edges conflicting with the blend and water masks is to use Image Magick and then generate a batch file to change all pure black pixels in the image to something else (like 1...

    What step am I missing?

It appears I am having an issue with the vegetation in the part of the map I'm doing anyhow, so not sure. Going to try another area, and get default veg working again, then try it again...

    Support us!

I normally would not donate to non-charity projects, but the work done here is so helpful, that I could not resist. Sent a small payment. Thanks Arno for all the helpful software you provided us, and to ScruffyDuck and the others as well.

    What step am I missing?

I successfully created Autogen using built-in library objects from Arno's example (thank you for this tool Arno). I am using standard OSM shapefile data for the US. What I am attempting to do However, I have a custom library of my own trees which works fine when I manually place them. I'm...

    FSX Mesh creation/resolution

Mesh isn't going to make things look much better by itself, mesh is more for custom landclass textures, otherwise by itself it's pretty worthless IMHO if you are looking for a graphical improvement anyhow.

    More Coordinate Issues

Just FYI: It turned out NOT to be my re-installation of Gdalwarp that was the issue (was a coincidence), the issue is something like compiling tiles in different sets (such as if compiling one tile separately from another), seems to produce slightly varying coordinate offsets (very odd). Will...

    More Coordinate Issues

Is there a place to still download the Geo-Tiffs from NAIP imagery? Well, I finally got it working, and you're going to laugh what the problem was... Apparently I had a MIXED version of a VERY OLD GdalTranslate and semi-newer Gdalwarp (different versions), and it appears after deleting and...

    More Coordinate Issues

I guess the only things left to try are: I read somewhere that someone said if you don't inject the coordinates directly back into the .TIF to re-assign it as a Geo-Tiff (rather than just directly entering the coords w/ batch), that the results can be inconsistent. So maybe that is why, I guess...

    More Coordinate Issues

Hey Arno, Thanks for asking, I can tell by the roads and airports and what not. It's actually off by more than 20 feet, hard to tell since it's not off in just one direction, it appears to be off in both X-Y. I also double checked it against a payware scenery in the same area, so I confirmed...

Water mask and blend mask with different size of photo, is it possible?

If you are not going to blend mask them out, a faster way is to Use Gimp or Photoshop to completely fill in the borders of ANY tiles that have watermasks, copy the land next to the border and use it to fill in the gaps / black spaces in the image border, do the same with the photo-real water...
