• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

How do I create curved buildings?

One way to consider making a curver building is to create a tube with 4 points and as many sections as you see fit. Hilight the points of the sections you want to move and use the rotate tool to make your curve. There is an excellent tutorial at www.daviator.com in the tutorial section...

    Looking for static Aircraft.

Check out the following link http://www.freeflightdesign.com/previews/OLEsourcefiles.html Quite a few low-poly gmax models of some model civilian and military aircraft, I have used a few of them for my scenery.

    alpha channel

Creating transparencies for FS9 is the same as making the for train sim. In the case of your of making shrubs or trees. Using your favorite graphics app, create your initial texture, make a copy of the image, and place that image into a mask. Invert the image, show background is all black...

    Polygon problems

Thanks for the options everyone. I just created a plane copied it, flipped one, sized it to the balconies, and welded into place. Thanks again. Dave

    Polygon problems

This is driving me crazy and I cant figure out how to fix it. I created building, extruded some polygons to create a balcony, I did a detach on the top of the balcony to open it up, but when looking through the balcony I can see through to the ground. If I rotate the object to look underneath...

Its one of those, DOH! moments...

when I finally realize, ahhhhh thats how they do it. It's only taken me this long to figure out how to do a detach of a polygon, and place it somewhere else to cover a hole, then attach two cloned parts. I dont need no stinkin' help guide. :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Delivering Freeware Sceneries with FSX?

After reading the post at flightsim.com, it seems to me that MS has a long list of partners, who at this time remain nameless. It would be nice if some freeware scenery made on the production release, but we both know that would be next to impossible, I think the larger scenery producers have...

    Good Freeware bad for business?

I doubt the small payware designer make serious coin, maybe enough to pay for their broadband and buy some tools, other than that its nothing that they could live off of. Heck, if I was to make payware, the money would go to my wife as a payoff for allowing me to spend so much time at the...

    Scenery Mess

Most add-on scenery is installed into the add-on scenery folder in fs2004. You could remove those files that you added, and keep the ones that you want. If there is scenery that is added elsewhere, look at the scenery zip file that you downloaded, write down the file names, search for them, the...

    Good Freeware bad for business?

I've been a long time lurker here in the forum and a scenery designer for the past 4 yrs. Most of the scenery I design is for my own use and for friends, I have never posted anything on any of the sim sites. My reasoning behind it is I dont want the flood of emails from people who think...
