• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Scenery Mess

This is my 1 st post and I hope my question is not stupid?

I have only recently acquired the internet and have been frantically copy(ing) and paste(ing) downloaded files and now my scenery is in a mess.

Is ther anyway of restoring all of the files in the order MS released them and then starting afresh?

If I provded my cfg. file(s) and wanted, for e.g., South Africa in high detail-would that be possible?

I'd appreciate any help.

Great site,

Keep well,

Markman

Most add-on scenery is installed into the add-on scenery folder in fs2004. You could remove those files that you added, and keep the ones that you want. If there is scenery that is added elsewhere, look at the scenery zip file that you downloaded, write down the file names, search for them, the delete them. Making sure that you delete the proper files, and not the default fs2004 scenery files.

HTH.

Hi,

Weclome to the forum and always remember, stupid questions do not exist :).

As Dave indicated most addon sceneries should have their own folder. So you might want to go to the scenery library and see all entries there. That should allow you to disable most addon sceneries.

Only when you have installed some of the files in the same folders as the MS folder, you have really created a mess. In that case you can best get the origional files from your CDs again.
