• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Can anybody give a quick rundown of what's new with FSX VC's please ? i.e. I'm interested to know about any changes in what now needs to be done in 3DS/gmax over the methods used for FS9 VC's. I hope you guys know what I mean ! Many thanks indeed. Plugg

    Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

Firstly, ALL animations for FSX aircraft need to be keyframe animated in gmax or 3DS first. No longer can we name an aileron accordingly and FS will animate it automatically, we now have to animate it ourselves. When the part is animated it is then necessary to use the new FSX Animation Tool...

Aircraft bites the dust on touchdown!

Guys, thanks for your input but still no luck. Brakes OK, gear is strong enough. I even checked that the diameter of the prop is not striking the ground first. Still Baffled ! Plugg

If you are compiling your plane with XtoMDL for FSX and not using FSX materials then that would cause the visibility problems you are having. Is there...

    Model Zapping FSX

It didn't have an interior model but I made one from a simple box. FSX is still crashing out. I temporarily substituted the Extra's model for my model and it appears OK in FSX ! Granted it needs some material and animation fixes but it appears perfectly and is flyable. I think this problem...

    Model Zapping FSX

I 'successfully' compiled my first model for FSX from 3DS7. It's a complete external model only (no VC). After some corrections etc. the cmd window now indicates a 'perfect' model in that not a single error shows up while compiling.. fine! Now, when I fire up FSX and go to select the aircraft...
