• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Blender 3.1 MSFS Windshield Rain in wrong Direction?

Windshields use two uv channels, create a secondary uv if you haven't, then refer to the SDK. Here precicely. https://docs.flightsimulator.com/html/mergedProjects/How_To_Make_An_Aircraft/Contents/Modelling/Airframe/Texturing/Windshield_And_Windows.htm?rhhlterm=windshield&rhsearch=windshield In...

    MSFS20 Problematic MSFS Ground Poly

UV Precision, there's all sorts of factors to it, specifically with aircraft is the problem you're mentioning here. FSPackagebuilder uses a much more compressed, compression, for our GLTF's in flight sim. Meaning several factors come in to play, say you've mapped an overhead shell, but cut out...

MSFS20 Native "comp" and "norm" files are black. Is there a way to open them in Photoshop to see individual channels?

I recommend installing Intel texture works https://gametechdev.github.io/Intel-Texture-Works-Plugin/ Allows you to import DDS, use it all the time for these things.

MSFS20 When landing, my amphibious aircraft lets the ocean into the cockpit...

Everything you need to do is documented here. You need an environment occluder for the interior. https://docs.flightsimulator.com/html/mergedProjects/How_To_Make_An_Aircraft/Contents/Modelling/Cockpit/Collision_Meshes.htm?rhhlterm=environment%20occluder

MSFS20 Modified default jetways help please

To do this, the way I did it for the airline logos/stand numbers, I have both materials calling for "xxx_jetway_stands" and "xxx_jetway_logo" I export the jetway as usual, and then create my "livery" folders, ie, the texture.xx folders, those textures must be named the same as what the material...

MSFS20 Modified default jetways help please

That is the license I had been using, I just sincerely don't particularly like using Max all that much. We'll see if the next project has jetways or not. :stirthepo

MSFS20 Modified default jetways help please

I ran into this issue as well. The thing is the Capote and Door need to be at 0,0,0 when parented to the respective nodes. Even doing so, it was deforming the animations and after a day of trying it, I sucked it up and just imported my Jetways into Max while I still had my subscription, tied it...

    MSFS20 Substance Painter MATERIAL Preset

Give these a go. I created them a while ago now, but they should export what you're needing.

Hey all, First off, this is my first post on the forums, have found tons of useful info on here so far, so thank you to everyone for your expertise! Second, this is an aircraft issue, but I could not find a sub-forum for MCX in the aircraft section, so I do apologize if I am posting in the...
