    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

GMax Getting back into my GMax

Tom I just discovered that If I look in the script folder under the FSX gamepack, I do have those files. I tried to copy them to the Gmax/script folder and still getting the dame problem I also notice a FSX_GMAX.exe under the FSX Gamepack. Should I be starting gmax from this EXE File? Michel

GMax Getting back into my GMax

Tom I had a suspicion that that was my problem. My script folder is empty, and so is my script folder in my original Gmax folder on my old drive. All I have is a sub folder "startup". Where would I find these files. I can't find them in my FSX SDK folder. I don't know if the fact that I am...

GMax Getting back into my GMax

After I got my Gmax going again, I went back to complete fixing the canals water elevation to be flat (or slightly slope). Now I am wanting to draw some locks. Making therm functional may not be possible as I would want them to be, but at least there will be lock structures were there should...

GMax Getting back into my GMax

Hello all In 2014, I installed GMax, got a registration key and used it to build my boat and a few other things. Then I had the unfortunate event of having a major computer crash and had to buy a new computer. At the time, I was busy with work and had no time to go back into GMax. Besides, I...

Were to find Object in FSX Scenery

Hi there I have been doing a bit more research and this is what I am thinking. Since the Panama canal is in Sector 2628, the placement file for the locks would probably be found in the BRX26280.bgl, which is apparently the file for extrusion bridges. That being said, I need to decompile the...

Islands disappear after multiple BGL conpilation

Gary I was finaly able to complete my “experimentation” with different “exclude” styles. First, here is the initial SBX files with all 3 layers of water polygons appended for the 4 QNID11 size squares that covers only the West Arm area of lake Nipising: Pink is HP12615D Green is H22615D...

Islands disappear after multiple BGL conpilation

Gary I will do a couple of test. Working with only the West Arm area, I will delete the quadrants to QMID 11 and and then redo another updated file with the revised elevations. I will also go back to my original exclude file and break out the West Arm area use that in conjugation with the new...

Islands disappear after multiple BGL conpilation

Gary Let me try to summarize what I can understand from your last post. To do my exclusion file for Lake Nipissing, I should draw a large polygon around the lake and surrounding area directly connected to the lake which will have the same elevation, then "clip" this large polygon to QMID11...

Islands disappear after multiple BGL conpilation

Gary That procedure was easy to do. FTX is now below UT Exclusion. But I am also thinking that since I am not doing any flying in the West at the moment, I should just turn FTX off Might be less taxing on my scenery But by moving FTX off and even going as far as turning it off, I go back to my...

Islands disappear after multiple BGL conpilation

Gary First screen shot is the UTX file HP12615D.bgl zoomed into Lake nippissing. The QMID vary from level 13 to Level 15 This next screen shot is my Nipissing_Exc.bgl This next one is my Nipissing.bgl now here is the top view of the west arm area of lake Nipissing And this is after I...

Islands disappear after multiple BGL conpilation

Gary On the TMF viewer file, do you want polygon fill on or off? Do you also want QMID grids on or off, and iff on, what level?

Islands disappear after multiple BGL conpilation

Hi folks I am having problem with SBuilderX compilation When I first started my project of revising UTX water polygons and my lakes and rivers, everything seemed to be going great. I started working on Lake Nipissing. 1) Used CvxExtract on file HP12615D found in...

FSX and Ultimate Terrain Canada and US

Gary You are correct as to the "subtopics". Once I get into those other area.s of my project, I will start new thread As for my islands, with a bit of experimentation, I have succeeded in discovering the solutions to my problems. I have discovered that if I do any alterations to the main...

FSX and Ultimate Terrain Canada and US

Gary Are you saying that the QMID can be changed before compiling? All I have been doing is revising each square generated by the UTX extracted shape files to this: Then going to “general” tab and assigning new altitude. For Lake Nippising, the squares ranged from QMID 13 to QMID 15. And...

FSX and Ultimate Terrain Canada and US

Gary UTX has a different clipping location that what you is shown on the one you show. They have a whole lot more smaller squares. But I don't think the problem is dependent on where the "squares are as some of the missing lakes seem to be just outside of the squares and some of the ones that...
