• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    P3D v4 Parking Type ..... NONE

Jon sounds like the compiler is not in synch with the sdk documents .......

    P3D v4 Parking Type ..... NONE

Jon Apologies for being "brief" in my earlier. The attached may help ........ (at differing airports) shows the NONE option on the Tool Bar & in the Settings dialogue. However it is not listed in the dropdown of the Edit dialogue (but I couldn't capture an image of that). If I add a new park...

    P3D v4 Parking Type ..... NONE

I have been considering adjustments for parking to suit my AI inventory & noticed the option to set a spot to "NONE" is in part possible but will not be compiled by ADE. It is apparently acceptable to P3D's SDK. I speculate that setting this parking type may allow AI to be parked more...

    New Phuket Airport

Tic indeed given i know little about models / simobjects. But how one can list the co-ords for the xml seems "easier" and "extensive" (taxiways, runways, als) but understandable. i offer my help if you wish, though i guess you have most of the co-ords from the bgl's (?). now at ZBAA, & VTBS...

    New Phuket Airport

Tic thanks for your note .... & yes from my "user" perspective, sode "conditions" give that little extra (day & nite both). i look foward to VTSP with sode daytime low vis, and just as much as i would with ZBAA & (updated P3D4) VTBS.

    New Phuket Airport

Tic have you used sode conditional daytime low visibility lighting ...... they look that little better than you ZBAA's.

    ATC Messages Explorer

I can only encourage the efforts & ideas of this thread ...... well beyond my skills to contribute except with thoughts. One of the regular comments you read about AI arrival & departure is how (no matter how much you tweak an afcad) one struggles to direct traffic as per the real at major...

    v1.6.4 Conditional Visibility bug

Jeffrey do you have any recommendations on the best way to make a runway / taxiway lights model .... that suites SODE needs ?

    Seoul Gimpo for FSX/P3D

Peter Just to understand, will you also include runway & taxiway etc. with that SODE conditional activation. Jeffery (SODE) also suggests the "rain/snow" condition. I hope to hear of the release when ready & am plotting flights to Tic's ZBAA ....... there's unfortunately few airports in the US...

FSXA ZBAA Beijing International Airport for FSX

Tic Thanks for our note (& well done). I must review my thinking on this aspect. Look forward to release.

FSXA ZBAA Beijing International Airport for FSX

Tic Am I correct .... you have 2 options for runway / taxiway / approach lighting a) SCASM which is more visible perhaps too bright but no daytime fog visibility b) Models for Sode lighting which are less visible but have daytime fog visibility ..... but you prefer these, hence your concerns above.

FSXA ZBAA Beijing International Airport for FSX

Tic my best opinion (memory) assumes the runway is flat (unlike any in the real) and that visibility is 9999 (>10km) ........ from the threshold you would not see an individual light at the far end (definition) / those beyond about 2km or so would appear as a "line" (essentially they are one...

FSXA ZBAA Beijing International Airport for FSX

they don't need to be (unreal) bright like P3D stock. DD's efforts are a good guide as to what is "real" in my opinion ......... but i prefer sode conditional visibility at class B airports to pcl triggers.

    Seoul Gimpo for FSX/P3D

peter i agree with your notes on P3D lights and more so your efforts with approach light visibility in "daylight fog".... the lead lights of the ALS should be seen a tad before MAP. i assume your 2nd sode set is night time good visibility which need only show "definition" from about 3nm, a tad...

FSXA ZBAA Beijing International Airport for FSX

i hope to hear the runway / taxi / approach lights are activated by SODE conditional visibility ... at night but in low daytime visibility. it would be a huge step for all to have that.

    Seoul Gimpo for FSX/P3D

Tic / Peter I am keen to hear more on the use of SODE activated lights. My perspective is that "visibility" can be "overdone". The best guide for me is that in daytime "fog" the lead approach lights begin to show dimly at about 3 miles in visibility about half that and then continue to...

    Seoul Gimpo for FSX/P3D

Peter Limited success as my modelling skills of lights to say the least are "inadequate" ...... though SODE activation with "conditional weather / visibility" of windsocks etc. works well. I am hoping one day a freeware / payware library of approach lights etc. is available for SODE. John

    Seoul Gimpo for FSX/P3D

Peter Will you be using SODE "conditional visibility" activation of the approach / taxiway / runway lights, particularly for daytime low visibility operations. John
