• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 Parking Type ..... NONE

I have been considering adjustments for parking to suit my AI inventory & noticed the option to set a spot to "NONE" is in part possible but will not be compiled by ADE.

It is apparently acceptable to P3D's SDK.

I speculate that setting this parking type may allow AI to be parked more accurately against airline codes / wingspan without reference to type ....... less "gate" / more "ramp" (??)

Your advice would be appreciated.

Just to confirm you are saying that a parking type of NONE is acceptable to the schema and compiler but is not compiled by ADE? Do you mean that ADE does not offer this as a choice? Or something else?

Jon

Apologies for being "brief" in my earlier.

The attached may help ........ (at differing airports) shows the NONE option on the Tool Bar & in the Settings dialogue. However it is not listed in the dropdown of the Edit dialogue (but I couldn't capture an image of that).

If I add a new park with the Tool Bar option, ADE can't compile that (ICError C2589 & C2607) ....... however, if I edit that park, it will default to a type Ramp_GA (& then is compiled)

Alternatively, if I edit an xml of the afcad with Notepad (ie change a type to NONE), this can't be loaded / compiled (ICError C2589).

Hope this explains ........ all else is brilliant.

I suspect that ADE is offering NONE which is a default but that is not accepted by the compiler. I would need to remove references to NONE in the lists

I can test this against P3D v5 but I no longer have v4 installed

That is entirely possible. The compiler has some quirks all of it's own
