• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 2D Popup Window Background

I have a 2D popup window that displays a little text , such as Mode=2. For convenience I've managed to size and position the window so it overlays the P3D menu bar as shown below. I would like the background of the 2D window to be clear or transparent rather than black, or if that is not possible, a background color close to the gray menu bar color would be the next choice, but I don't understand how to make that happen.

The panel.cfg entry for the 2D window is:
[Window07]
size_mm = 15,4
window_size = 0.07
position = 1
//backround_color = 0,0,0
visible = 0
ident = Yoke Mode
sizeable = 0
gauge00 = Yoke_Mode!YokeMode, 0,0,15,4

The background_color entry is commented out because I found it makes no difference what values I use for it (perhaps because there is no bmp image file associated with this 2D window?).
What controls the 2D window background color?

Thx,
Al

Not sure if this is your problem, but the line you commented out has a typo (backround, missing a 'g')

Secondly, ( if the printed text is coded in an XML gauge), add a bitmap to the YokeMode.xml gauge that has color coding 0,0,0 (so: transparent).
