• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

The first part of the error about the XML code I don't know, but the last part of 0 being not equal to 65536 means that you have too many platforms in your file. There is a limit on the amount of platforms you can have in one MDL file.

Arno, hi.

Sorry to ressurect so ancient topic, but I have a similar problem: I was trying to work in a model made by a friend (yes, I have authorization).

So my first step was to open it and simply try to save (to not spend some time working and it can't save).

I got the same error as Andre, as you can see at the picture.

Any ideas what I should do to fix it?

Thank you!

Hi,

It seems to be that that error indicates your object is too complex for the FS2004 format.

Which version of MCX are you using? Because there should be a warning in this case.

Arno, hi, good morning.

Thanks for your quickly reply.
:)

I'm using MCX 1.4.0.0.62918e6 4/5/2015

I tested one thing: change BGLComp from FS2004's SDK to Lockheed's SDK. When I do this, MCX saves the file, but mess up with animations: it groups all animated parts together.

Hi,

Aircraft models with their complex animations are not really supported at the moment. You would have to manually assign the right animation type for all of them in the animation editor. They are not loaded correctly from the fs2004 MDL file yet.

Arno, hi.

Is there any manual, anything I can read to learn more about assigning animations in MCX?

Thank you.
