3DS Max 2009 for FSX ..?

I have 3DS Max 2009 64bit, is there anyway I can use it to model for FSX..?
Is it possible to use P3D SDK plugins.?

Or I believe I read I would need to export a file and then import it to GMax for manipulation.

I've sorted through different threads but have not see a clear cut, step be step approach, to making this work.

Thanks...

I have tried "Prepar3D_v2_SDK_2.5.12946.0" to get 64bit plugins which show up under a max2012 folder.
Aces Tools shows now but selecting a tool causes either a Max script error or "This tool is not Supported" message.

For FSX, you should be using P3D SDK v1.4, and there is a 3DSMax script for 2009 version within it.

I installed P3D SDK v1.4 but understood it needed a patch for 64bit plugins which seems not to be available anymore
which is why I went with 2.512946

I back tracked and using SDK v1.4 mapped to 3DSM9 which has no 64bit folders, I'm still seeing the same errors.

A 64-bit exporter wasn’t developed for Max 2009, you need the 32-bit version of Max for it. I still have Max 2008 and use the 32-bit version to export P3D .X files but I can use the 64-bit version too on the same licence. You should be able to do the same with Max 2009, both versions are included on the DVDs.

Many thanks.! Max 2009 installed with SDK v1.4 and all looks OK with no errors.
Could you point me to an export flow..? I assume as a Direct ".X" file..?
