• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

3ds Max Dialog Display Problem

There doesn't seem to be an appropriate place to post this so general chat it is.

I have lost the Render to Texture dialog in 3ds Max 2015. It shows as activated in the Render menu but does not display on screen. I suspect that I had the dialog minimized the last time I used it before my computer's motherboard died. I've puttsed with it for several hours now with no success. I run duel monitors and have had similar problems in the past when one monitor died and menus were remembered on the missing monitor but I have both monitors running. Any help on resolving this problem will keep me from drinking myself into a coma from pure frustration. :banghead: :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Maybe try minimizing the screen, then maximizing it again.

Also, try a brand new, totally fresh screen, see if it boots up properly, then close and see if it opens properly in the old scene.

If it doesnt, then you could try importing all of your work into a 'new' scene and save as next one up.

Lastly, if you boot up the screen (that is evidently hidden behind the windows frame), you can access 'Move' by clicking ALT and Space bar, then ALT - M. Then use the keyboard arrow keys to see if you can make it move 'into site'. I am thinking up and right, or up and left. When you hit Enter, it locks it in its location again (the window). If you dont click Enter, it flips back to its original location.

I remember this would happen in Gmax with some popup window. Very frustrating. A fix was to go into a config file somewhere, edit it and the window was back again. I have no idea what config that was. I am sure Max has a similar config. Perhaps the config is in the 3ds max file itself. Maybe you can open it (a copy, or course) and if its mostly in english and not machine code, then maybe you'll see a window GUI settings section and you can find that window and adjust its coordinates.

Bill your a life saver! This did the trick and I'm back in action again.
Thank you very much.
